Overview
Overhead power line construction demands coordination across civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines simultaneously. Pole foundations, conductor stringing, transformer mounting, and protection equipment all have to come together on a defined schedule — in the open field, across varied terrain, and often within tight shutdown windows on live networks.
At Simplex, overhead line construction is one of our core competencies, backed by 29 years of execution experience and a 180+ strong field team. We have constructed and upgraded HT and LT overhead networks across Eastern India — for Railway electrification settlements, DISCOM distribution network expansion, and power supply projects. Our in-house teams handle every stage, from the first peg in the ground to the moment the line is energised.
We hold a Class ‘A’ electrical contractor licence authorising HT and LT works up to 132kV and are authorised channel partners for leading cable and pole hardware suppliers — giving our clients the benefit of supply chain depth alongside execution capability.

Here are some of the key benefits of trenchless pipeline installation
Route Survey, Pole Schedule & Drawing Preparation
We begin with a detailed route survey to finalise pole positions, span lengths, crossing locations, and sag-tension parameters. Pole schedules, stringing charts, and layout drawings are prepared and approved before any foundation work begins — avoiding costly repositioning during execution.
Pole & Tower Erection — Concrete, MS & Railpost
We erect PCC (pre-stressed concrete), MS tubular, and railpost poles for LT and HT lines as per the pole schedule and approved foundation designs. Poles are set to correct alignment, plumb, and embedment depth, with stub setting for double pole and four pole structures where required for section and tension points.
ACSR Conductor Stringing & Bare Overhead Lines
For HT lines — 11kV and 33kV — we string ACSR (Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced) conductors with correct sag and tension. Disc insulator strings, cross-arms, clamps, and binding hardware are fitted to specification at every pole location.
Aerial Bunch Cable (AB Cable) Stringing
For primary distribution, we have extensive experience with AB cable stringing. AB cable offers significant advantages over bare LT conductors in terms of safety, theft prevention, and reduced line losses, and we have executed AB cable networks of upto 11kV lines for both DISCOMs and Indian Railways.
Stay Wire, Earthing & Protection Equipment
Stay wires and struts are installed at all angle, tension, and terminal poles to counteract mechanical loads on the line. Pole earthing executed at every pole as per applicable standards. Protection and switching equipment are fitted, wired, and tested at section poles and line terminals.
Power Shutdown Liaising, Testing & Commissioning
Our team manages the complete shutdown coordination process whenever required and executing safely within approved windows.
After completion, the line is tested and charged to hand over turnkey power line with work guarantee.
