Simplex Electricals executes complete underground power cable laying projects for power utilities, DISCOMs, railways, EPC and industrial clients across Eastern India. Our scope runs from route survey, and excavation through to cable pulling, termination kit installations, structure erection, and final charging and commissioning — all delivered under a single Class ‘A’ licensed contractor.
Overview
Underground power cable laying is a multi-stage operation that requires civil, electrical, and logistical coordination to be executed correctly and on schedule. A poorly planned route, a missed shutdown window, or an undertrained jointer can set a project back by weeks.
At Simplex Electricals, we have built our underground cabling capability to handle every stage in-house — from the first route walk to the moment the line is charged and handed over. Our teams are experienced in both open-cut trenching and trenchless HDD methods, and our electrical crews are trained in HT termination kit installations, double/four pole and gantry structure erections, protection equipment fitting, and transformer terminations for LT and HT systems up to 33kV.
We work directly with DISCOMs, Indian Railways, EPCs, and industrial owners.

Key Process and Scope Areas
Route Planning, Survey & Method Statement
We begin every project with a detailed route survey — assessing soil conditions, crossing requirements, underground obstacles, and right-of-way constraints. Route drawings, cable schedules, and method statements are prepared and approved before mobilisation, ensuring zero ambiguity at the execution stage.
Excavation & Open Duct Construction
Trench excavation is carried out manually or using JCB/mechanical excavators as per terrain and depth requirements. For open duct routes, we execute HDPE pipe stringing or brick-and-concrete duct construction with proper bedding, cable separation, warning tiles, and route markers.
Trenchless HDD for Roads, Railways & Highway Crossings
Where open cutting is not permitted we deploy HDD rigs to install HDPE conduits trenchlessly with zero surface disruption. With 60+ railway HDD crossings completed under RDSO-compliant methods this is a core Simplex specialisation.
Cable Pulling, Jointing & Termination Kit Installations
Cables are pulled through ducts using calibrated winches with drum-by-drum traceability. Our certified electrical crews carry out straight-through joints and indoor/outdoor termination kit installations for LT armoured and HT XLPE cables up to 33kV — including transformer terminations
Structure Erection & Protection Equipment Fitting
Where the underground route connects to an overhead network or substation, we erect Double Pole (DP), Four Pole (FP), or gantry structures with all associated hardwares Lightning Arrestors (LA), Air Break (AB) Switches, and Drop-Out (DO) Fuses, stay wires and earthing — per utility specifications.
Power Shutdown Liaising, Testing & Commissioning
Our team manages the complete shutdown coordination process whenever required and executing safely within approved windows.
After completion, the line is tested and charged to hand over turnkey power line with work guarantee.
